                Detailed Summary
            

            
S.O. 4370(E), dated 8 October 2024 (New Delhi), issued by the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board), records that by an earlier notification, S.O. 4493(E) dated 12 October 2023 (Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii)), issued under sub-section (1) of section 20A of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989), the Central Government had declared its intention to acquire land for the Special Railway Project '4th Line between Barejadi-Nandej (Geratpur)-Sanand (38.20 km) in the District of Ahmedabad' in Gujarat. The substance of that notification was published in The Indian Express (English), Sandesh (Gujarati) and Young Leader (Hindi), all dated 21 October 2023, under sub-section (4) of section 20A. Ninety-seven objections concerning Sanathal village and twelve concerning Navapura village were received, considered, and disallowed by the competent authority, which then submitted its report to the Central Government under sub-section (1) of section 20E. Exercising powers under sub-section (1) of section 20E, the Central Government now declares that the Schedule land shall be acquired for the project; under sub-section (2) of section 20E, that land vests absolutely in the Central Government, free of all encumbrances, upon publication of this notification. The Schedule, covering Sanand taluka, Ahmedabad district, lists 60 parcels by survey number, land type (predominantly private agricultural land, with some non-agricultural parcels) in Sanathal and Navapura villages, area in square metres, and named owners/interested persons, totalling 136,062 sq. metres. NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 8th October, 2024
S.O. 4370(E).—Whereas, by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Railways
(Railway Board), number S.O. 4493(E), dated the 12th October, 2023 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary,
Part II, Section 3, Sub – section (ii), dated the 12th October, 2023 and issued under sub-section (1) of section 20A of
the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its
intention to acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed to the said notification for the purpose of execution of
the Special Railway Project, namely, 4TH LINE BETWEEN BAREJADI – NANDEJ (GERATPUR) – SANAND
(38.20 KM) IN THE DISTRICT OF AHMEDABAD in the State of Gujarat.
And, whereas, the substance of the said notification has been published in the daily local news papers,
namely, The Indian Express (English), dated the 21st October, 2023, Sandesh (Gujarati) dated the 21st October, 2023
and Young leader (Hindi) dated the 21st October, 2023 under sub-section (4) of section 20A of the said Act;
And, whereas, 97 (Ninety Seven) numbers of objection have been received for Sanathal village & 12
(Twelve) numbers of objection have been received for Navapura village and the same have been considered and
disallowed by the competent authority;
And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the competent authority has
submitted its report to the Central Government.
Now, therefore, upon receipt of the report of the Competent Authority and in exercise of the powers
conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land
specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose.
And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the Schedule annexed
hereto shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances.
