Account Information: When you register, we collect your email address and a username of your choice. Authentication is handled by Supabase, a third-party authentication provider. We do not store your password in our database.

User-Generated Content: We store data you create while using the Service, including:

• Search keywords and alert preferences you configure
• Gazettes you bookmark (save) and any notes you add to them
• Your notification preferences (instant alerts, daily digest settings)

Automatically Collected Information:

• Session Data: We use HTTP-only cookies to maintain your login session. These contain authentication tokens only and expire automatically (access token: 1 hour; refresh token: 7 days).
• Alert Delivery Logs: When we send you email alerts, we record the delivery status for operational reliability and debugging purposes.

Information We Do Not Collect: We do not use any third-party analytics, tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or behavioural tracking tools. We do not track your browsing activity or share data with advertisers.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely for the following purposes:

• To provide and maintain the Service, including gazette search, bookmarking, and alert features
• To send you email alerts and daily digests based on your configured keywords and preferences
• To authenticate your identity and maintain your session
• To communicate with you about service-related matters

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure. We implement reasonable security measures including:

• Passwords managed by Supabase with industry-standard hashing (we never see or store your password)
• HTTP-only, SameSite cookies for session tokens to mitigate cross-site attacks
• Encrypted database connections

While we take reasonable precautions, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the Internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Gazette Tracker:

• Supabase — for user authentication and database hosting
• Resend — for sending alert emails and daily digests
• Hetzner — for server hosting

These providers have their own privacy policies governing how they handle data. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any other third parties.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. User-generated content (saved gazettes, keywords, notes) is retained until you delete it or delete your account. Alert delivery logs are retained for operational purposes.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access and review the personal information we hold about you
• Update or correct your account information through the Settings page
• Delete your saved gazettes, notes, and alert keywords at any time
• Disable email alerts and daily digests through the Settings page
• Request deletion of your account by contacting us

8. Applicable Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, as applicable.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
