NOTIFICATION
Mumbai, the 2nd February, 2026
S.O. 477(E).โ In accordance with the directions issued under Section 20(E) โ Power to Acquire
Land (Notification under 20(E)) of the Railways Act, 1989 (24) and the Railway (Amendment) Act, 2008, and in
pursuance of the proposal submitted vide letter dated 23.05.2024 by the Deputy Chief Engineer (Construction),
Western Railway, Churchgate, regarding land acquisition proceedings for the Goregaon to Borivali Harbour Line
(length 7.08 km) under the MUTP-3A Special Railway Project, action is being taken on the land acquisition proposal
received for the railway project in accordance with the provisions of the Railway (Amendment) Act, 2008.
Whereas, the intention of the Government to acquire the land mentioned below for the
implementation, development, maintenance, management and operation of the said project had already been declared
earlier, and the notification in this regard was published under Section 20(A) of the Railways Act in the Official Gazette
dated 06.02.2025 and 16.12.2025, and was also published in local newspapers in Hindi, English and Marathi on February
13, 2025 (Hindustan Times, Maharashtra Times, Pratahkal, Prahaar, Navarashtra) and December 25, 2025 (Hindustan
Times, The Indian Express, Navbharat, Pratahkal, Prahaar, Navarashtra)
And whereas, in accordance with sub-section (1) of Section 20(A), the Competent Authority has
submitted its report to the Central Government, and after receipt of the said report, the Central Government, in exercise
of the powers conferred under sub-section (1) of Section 20(E) of the said Act, hereby declares that the land specified
in the Schedule shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose.
And in accordance with sub-section (2) of Section 20(E) of the said Act, the Central Government
hereby declares that upon publication of this acquisition in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the Schedule shall
vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances.
SCHEDULE
Brief description of the land proposed to be acquired, with or without structures thereon, for the construction of the
Goregaon to Borivali Harbour Line (length 7.08 km) under the MUTP-3A Special Railway Project, situated in
Mumbai Suburban District of Maharashtra State, is as follows:
