                Detailed Summary
            

            
Exercising powers under sub-section (1) of Section 20E of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989), read with the Railway (Amendment) Act, 2008, the Ministry of Railways (Northern Railway, Construction Organization), by notification S.O. 5175(E) dated 12 November 2025 (New Delhi), declares that land specified in the schedule shall be acquired, and that on publication in the Official Gazette it vests absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances, for construction of a Road Over Bridge at Level Crossing No. 41C in connection with the doubling of the Jaunpur–Zafrabad Section (6.28 Km.) of the Lucknow Division, District Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. The notification follows an earlier intention-to-acquire notification, S.O. 3358(E) dated 21 July 2025, issued under Section 20A of the Railways Act, whose substance was published in the newspapers Amar Ujala (Hindi) and Hindustan Times (English) on 25 July 2025 under Section 20A(4); two objections were received and resolved by the Competent Authority/Special Land Acquisition Officer, who then submitted a report to the Central Government under Section 20E(1). The annexed schedule identifies affected plot numbers in Nathupur village, Sadar Tehsil, Jaunpur District, including plots 242, 245-247, 251, 253-255, 333-338, 340, 1071-1072, 1108, 1112-1116, 1121-1122, 1126-1127, 1129, 1132, 1156-1157, 1160 and 1162, covering private agricultural and non-agricultural land as well as government land (Chakmarg and Nali), for a total affected area of 1.1044 hectares. NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 12th November, 2025
S.O. 5175(E).— Whereas as by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Railways
(Railway Board), number S.O. 3358(E), dated the 21 July, 2025 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II,
Section 3, Sub-section (ii), dated the 21 July, 2025 and issued under Sub-section (1) of section 20A of the Railways Act, 1989
(24 of 1989) (herein after referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intention to acquire the land
specified in the Schedule annexed to the said notification for the purpose of execution, maintenance, management and
operation of the Railway Project, namely, "ROB at L-Xing No.-41C in connection with doubling of special project
Jaunpur-Zafrabad Section (6.28Km.) of Lucknow Division on Northern Railway" Project in District-Jaunpur in the
State of Uttar Pradesh.
Whereas, the substance of the said notification has been published in the daily local newspapers, namely, "Amar Ujala"
(Hindi) and "Hindustan Times" (English), dated the 25 July, 2025 under sub-section (4) of section 20A of the said Act, 2
objection have been received solved by competent authority/Special Land Acquistion officer.
Whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the competent authority has submitted its report to
the Central Government.
Now, therefore, upon receipt of the report of the competent authority and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-
section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land specified in the schedule
annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose.
Further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that
on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall vest
absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances.
