Eligibility requires graduation in Agriculture, Botany, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Forestry, Geology, Fisheries, Horticulture, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Veterinary Science or Zoology, or a B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Applications, Computer Science, Agriculture, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical engineering, plus minimum physical standards (height 163 cm/chest 84+5 cm for men, 150 cm/79+5 cm for women, relaxed to 152 cm/145 cm respectively for candidates from specified Scheduled Tribe communities) and a physical test of 25 km (men) or 16 km (women) on foot within four hours, together with a medical fitness certificate. Probation is two years for both direct recruits and promotees. Recruitment is 75% by direct recruitment and 25% by promotion, failing which by deputation (including short-term contract)/absorption; promotion is from Deputy Forest Rangers with 15 years' regular service in Level 3 (Rs. 21,700-69,100) who complete the prescribed 18-month in-service training, while deputation is open to Central/State/UT officers with 6 years' service in Level 5 (Rs. 29,200-92,300) or equivalent who hold the prescribed qualifications and 2 years' relevant experience (maximum deputation age 56 years). No. 47(188)/CF/HQ/98/ESTT. /PART I/7106-13.—In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso of Article 309 of the Constitution of India, read with Govt. of India , Ministry of Home Affairs Notification [PART IV DELHI GAZETTE : EXTRAORDINARY No. 27/59-Him (i) dated 13th July, 1959 and in suppression of all previous notifications to this effect, the Lt. Governor, Delhi hereby makes the following Rules regulating the method of recruitment to the post of Forest Ranger, Group B post (Non-gazetted , non-ministerial) in the Department of Forests and Wildlife, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, namely: 1. Short Title and commencement: (i) These Rules may be called the Govt. of National Capital Territory of Delhi Forest Ranger, Group B (Non- gazetted, non-ministerial) post in the Department of Forests & Wildlife,Recruitment Rules, 2023. (ii) They shall come into force from the date of their publications in the Official Gazette. 2. No. of Posts, Classification and Level in Pay Matrix. The no. of said post their classification and the level in pay matrix attached thereto, shall be as specified in paras 2 to 4 of the Schedule annexed to these rules. 3. Method of Recruitment, Age Limit, and other Qualifications etc.:- The method of recruitment, age limit, qualification and other matters relating thereto shall be as specified at serial nos. 6 to 13 paras of the Schedule annexed to the Rules. 4. Disqualification :- (i) No person, who has entered into or contracted a married with a person having a spouse, or (ii) Who, having a spouse leaving, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person shall be eligible for this said post: Provided that the Lt. Governor Delhi may, if satisfied that such married is permissible under the personal law applicable to such persons and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for doing so, exempt any person from the operation of this Rule. 5. Power to relax Where the Hon’ble Lt. Governor (Administrator), Delhi is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient to do so, he may, by order and for reasons to be recorded in writing relax any of the provisions of these rules with respect to any class or category of persons in consultation with UPSC. 6. Saving:- Nothing in these rules shall affect reservations, relaxation of age limit and other concessions required to be provided for the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other special categories of persons in accordance with the orders issued by the Central Government from time to time in this regard.
