Detailed Summary

Acting under sub-section (1) of Section 20E of the Railway (Amendment) Act, 2008 (11 of 2008), the Central Government declares, by notification S.O. 105(E) dated 5 January 2026, that the land described in the schedule shall be acquired for the Special Railway Project 'Wardha Yavatmal Nanded New BG Railway Line' in Yavatmal district, Maharashtra, and, under sub-section (2) of Section 20E, that on publication the land vests absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances. The Central Government's intention to acquire this land was first declared under Section 20A of the Act by notification S.O. 3444(A) dated 23 July 2025 (published 25 July 2025); its substance was advertised in the newspapers 'Lokdut' and 'Jan Sangram' on 5 November 2025. No objections were received, and the Competent Authority has submitted its report to the Central Government. The schedule covers land in the villages of Sakhara (Digras taluka), Jyotinagar and Jawaharnagar (Pusad taluka) and Palashi (Umarkhed taluka), totalling 32.53 hectares of recorded holdings, of which 2.09 hectares is acquired. G197/WR -Nanded/Jyotinagar+3 Vlgs/20E] MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (Central Railway) NOTIFICATION Mumbai, the 5th January, 2026 Under clause 20E of the Railway (Amendment) Act 2008 S.O. 105(E).—Whereas, by the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board), number. S.O 3444 (A) dated 23th July 2025 published in Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, section 3, Sub-section (ii) dated the 25th July 2025 (hereinafter referred to as the said notification) and issued under sub-section (1) of section 20A of the Railway (Amendment) Act, 2008 (11 of 2008) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declares its intention to acquire the land specified in the schedule annexed to the said notification for the purpose of execution, maintenance, management and operation of Special Railway Project, namely “Wardha Yavatmal Nanded New BG Railway Line” in the district of Yavatmal in the state of Maharashtra. And whereas, the substance of the said notification was published in daily newspapers namely “Lokdut ” And “Jan Sangram ” Dated 5th November 2025 under sub section (4) of section 20A of the said Act; And whereas, no objections were received and the same have been considered by the competent Authority accordingly orders have been passed; And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section 20E of the said Act, the competent authority has submitted its report to the Central Government Now therefore, upon receipt of the report of the Competent Authority and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said act, the Central Government hereby declares that the lands specified in the schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose; And Further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that on publication of this notification in the official Gazette; the land specified in the schedule annexed hereto shall vest absolutely in the Central Government Free from all encumbrances.
