                Detailed Summary
            

            
By notification S.O. 2645(E), issued at New Delhi on 5th July 2024, the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) declares, under sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 20E of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989), that the land specified in the annexed Schedule shall be acquired and shall vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances, for the Special Railway Project '4th Line between Barejadi–Nandej (Geratpur)–Sanand' (38.20 km) in Ahmedabad district, Gujarat. The Central Government had earlier declared its intention to acquire this land by notification S.O. 4493(E), dated 12th October 2023, under sub-section (1) of section 20A of the said Act. The substance of that notification was published under section 20A(4) in the local newspapers The Indian Express (English), Sandesh (Gujarati) and Young Leader (Hindi), all dated 21st October 2023. Twenty-seven objections were received, considered and disallowed by the Competent Authority. The Competent Authority submitted its report to the Central Government under section 20E(1). The Schedule lists survey/block numbers, land type and owners in Ode village (Daskroi taluka) and Telav village (Sanand taluka), Ahmedabad district, with a total acquired area of 69,830 square metres. NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 5th July, 2024
S.O. 2645(E).—Whereas, by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Railways
(Railway Board), number S.O. 4493(E), dated the 12th October, 2023 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary,
Part II, Section 3, Sub – section (ii), dated the 12th October, 2023 and issued under sub-section (1) of section 20A of
the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its
intention to acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed to the said notification for the purpose of execution of
the Special Railway Project, namely, 4TH LINE BETWEEN BAREJADI – NANDEJ (GERATPUR) – SANAND
(38.20 KM) IN THE DISTRICT OF AHMEDABAD in the State of Gujarat.

And, whereas, the substance of the said notification has been published in the daily local news papers,
namely, The Indian Express (English), dated the 21st October, 2023, Sandesh (Gujarati) dated the 21st October, 2023
and Young leader (Hindi) dated the 21st October, 2023 under sub-section (4) of section 20A of the said Act;
And, whereas, 27 (Twenty Seven) numbers of objection have been received and the same have been
considered and disallowed by the competent authority ;
And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the competent authority has
submitted its report to the Central Government.
Now, therefore, upon receipt of the report of the Competent Authority and in exercise of the powers
conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land
specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose.
And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the Schedule annexed
hereto shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances.
