By notification S.O. 2840(E) dated 3 June 2026, the Ministry of Railways (Western Railway, Construction Organization) issues a final declaration under section 20E(1) of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989) and the Railway (Amendment) Act, 2008, confirming acquisition of land for the Special Railway Project 'Construction of Vasai bypass double line between Naigaon and Juchandra stations' in Palghar district, Maharashtra. It follows the Central Government's earlier declaration of intention to acquire the land, made by notification S.O. 2492(E) dated 5 June 2025, published in Gazette No. 2435 dated 4 June 2025, under section 20A(1) of the Act; the substance of that notification was published in 'NavBharat', 'Pratahakal', 'Loksatta', 'Prahaar' and 'The Free Press Journal' (Hindi, Marathi, English) on 9 July 2025 as required under section 20A(4). No objections were received, and the competent authority has passed orders accordingly and submitted its report to the Central Government under section 20E. The notification also cross-references an associated Gazette notification No. 2433 dated 5 June 2025, bearing Gazette ID CG-MH-A-07062025-263665. The Central Government accordingly declares the land in the annexed Schedule acquired for the project, and under section 20E(2) the land vests absolutely in the Central Government, free of all encumbrances, on publication. NOTIFICATION
Mumbai, the 3rd June, 2026
S.O. 2840(E).— Where as, by the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Railways
(Railway Board), S. O. 2492 (E) dated the 05th June, 2025 published in Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, section
3, Sub-section (ii), No. 2435 dated 4th June 2025 (hereinafter referred to as the said notification) and issued under sub-
section (1) of section 20 A of the Railway Act, 1989 (24 of 1989) and Railway (Amendment) Act, 2008 (hereinafter
referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declares its intention to acquire the land specified in the schedule
annexed to the said notification for the purpose of execution, maintenance, management and operation of Special
Railway Project, namely Construction of Vasai bypass double line between Naigaon and Juchandra stations,in the
district of Palghar in the State of Maharashtra.
And whereas, the substance of the said notification was published in daily newspapers namely “NavBharat”,
“Pratahakal”, “ Loksatta ”, “Prahaar”, and “The Free Press Journal” (Hindi, Marathi, English) Dated 9th July 2025
under sub section (4) of section 20 A of the said Act.
And whereas, no objections were received and the same have been considered by the Competent Authority
accordingly orders have been passed.

And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section 20 E of the said Act, the competent authority has submitted its report
to the Central Government.
Now therefore, upon receipt of the report of the Competent Authority and in exercise of the powers conferred
by sub-section (1) of section 20 E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the lands specified in
the schedule annexed here to shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose. "This notification pertains to the Gazette
Notification published in the Gazette of India No. 2433 dated 05.06.2025, bearing Gazette ID CG-MH-A-07062025-
263665."
And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20 E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
declares that on publication of this notification in the official Gazette, the land specified in the schedule annexed hereto
shall vest absolutely in the Central government free from all encumbrances.
