Detailed Summary

Exercising powers under sub-section (2) of section 14 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs issued Notification No. 06/2025-Customs (N.T.), S.O. 590(E), dated 31st January 2025, amending Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.) dated 3rd August 2001 (S.O. 748(E), dated 3rd August 2001) by substituting Table-1, Table-2 and Table-3 fixing tariff values. Revised values in Table-1 include Crude Palm Oil at US$1109 per metric tonne, RBD Palm Oil at US$1158, other Palm Oil at US$1134, Crude Palmolein at US$1161, RBD Palmolein at US$1164, other Palmolein at US$1163, Crude Soya Bean Oil at US$1118, and Brass Scrap at US$5239 per metric tonne. Table-2 fixes Gold at US$897 per 10 grams and Silver at US$1001 per kilogram. Table-3 leaves Areca Nuts unchanged at US$6448 per metric tonne. The principal notification was last amended by Notification No. 03/2025-Customs (N.T.), dated 15th January 2025 (S.O. 294(E)). S.O. 590(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 14 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs, being satisfied that it is necessary and expedient to do so, hereby makes the following amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.), dated the 3rd August, 2001, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section-3, Sub-section (ii), vide number S.
