Three notifications dated 16th January 2026 from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Under Section 5 of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956), S.O. 247(E) further amends the notification number S.O. 1096(E) dated 4th August, 2005 (last amended by S.O. 64(E) dated 5th January, 2026) by substituting serial number 13 of its Schedule, listing National Highways including NH-7, NH-12, NH-12A, NH-26A, NH-27, NH-59, NH-69, NH-75, NH-76 and NH-78 and several new numbered highways situated within the State of Madhya Pradesh, and specifies that execution functions for these highways are exercisable by the State Government of Madhya Pradesh. Similarly, S.O. 248(E), under the same section and amending the same principal notification, substitutes serial number 24 of the Schedule to list National Highways including NH-2A, NH-11, NH-24A, NH-27, NH-28B, NH-28C, NH-29, NH-56, NH-58, NH-74, NH-75, NH-76, NH-86, NH-91, NH-92, NH-93, NH-96 and NH-235 situated within the State of Uttar Pradesh, exercisable by the State Government of Uttar Pradesh. Separately, S.O. 249(E), issued under Section 11 of the National Highways Authority of India Act, 1988 (68 of 1988), entrusts to the National Highways Authority of India the entire stretch of new National Highway 719, running from its junction with NH-19 near Etawah in Uttar Pradesh through Bhind and terminating at its junction with NH-44 near Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, covering the highway in both states.
