Under S.O. 839(E), issued under section 5 of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956), the Central Government amends notification S.O. 1096(E) dated 4th August 2005 (last amended by S.O. 444(E) dated 30th January 2026) by substituting the Table entry for serial number 9, assigning execution functions over stretches of National Highways Nos. 3, 303, 305, 5, 105, 503A, 505A, 7, 705, 707, 907A and 154A within Himachal Pradesh to the State Government of Himachal Pradesh. Under S.O. 840(E), issued under section 11 of the National Highways Authority of India Act, 1988 (68 of 1988), the Central Government entrusts three highway stretches in Himachal Pradesh to the National Highways Authority of India: NH-503 from the Punjab/Himachal Pradesh border via Una, Amb and Mubarakpur to Ranital (99 km); NH-503 from Matour via Dharamshala to Mcleod Ganj (22 km); and NH-907 from its junction with NH-7 near Paonta Sahib to the Himachal Pradesh/Punjab border (entire stretch within the state).

CG-DL-E-18022026-270270 EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (ii) 1171 GI/2026 (1) MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 16th February, 2026 S.O. 839(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956), the Central Government hereby directs that the functions in relation to the execution of works pertaining to each of the National Highways described in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed shall be exercisable by the State Government specified in column (3) of the Table against each highway subject to the condition that the State Government concerned shall in the exercise of such functions be bound to comply with the rules for the time being in force under the said Act and for that purpose makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the erstwhile Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways (Department of Road Transport and Highways) number S.O 1096(E), dated the 4th August, 2005, namely:- In the said notification, in the Schedule, for serial number 9 and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be substituted, namely: - TABLE | (1) | (2) | (3) | |---|---|---| | “9 | So much of National Highways No. 3[excluding from Naduan – Hamirpur section (26 km), Mandi – Kullu – Manali section (106.00 km) and from Manali – Keylong –Himachal Pradesh/Ladakh border section (187.00 km)], No. 303[excluding from Ranital –Naduan section (31.40 km)], No. 305, No. 5[excluding from km 67.200 to km 156.507 of Old NH-22 (Haryana/Himachal Pradesh border – Solan – Kaithlighat – Shimla Bypass section) and also excluding the stretches from Powari – Chini – Up to India/Tibet border near Shipkila section entrusted to Border Road Development Board], No. 105 [excluding from km 17.00 to km 35.00 (Haryana/HP border – Nalagarh section)], No. 503A, No. 505A, No. 7 [excluding from km. 97.000 to km 103.400 (Paonta Sahib – Himachal Pradesh/Uttarakhand border section)], No. 705, No. 707, No. 907A, and No. 154A as are situated within the State of Himachal Pradesh. | State Government of Himachal Pradesh”. | [F.
