NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 16th May, 2024
G.S.R 277(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) and clause (a) of sub-section (2) of
section 18 of the Central Reserve Police Force Act, 1949 (66 of 1949) and in supersession of the Central Reserve
Police Force, Pioneer Cadre (Group B and C Posts) Recruitment Rules, 2010, except as respects things done or
omitted to be done before such supersession, the Central Government hereby makes the following rules regulating the
method of recruitment to Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ Posts in the Pioneer Cadre in the Central Reserve Police Force,
namely:-
1.
Short title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Central Reserve Police Force, Pioneer
Cadre (Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ Posts) Recruitment Rules, 2024.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2.
Number of posts, classification and level in pay matrix. - The number of posts, their classifications and
the level in the pay matrix attached thereto shall be as specified in columns (2) to (4) of the Schedule
annexed to these rules.
3.
Method of recruitment, age limit and other qualifications, etc.- The method of recruitment, age limit,
qualifications and other matters relating to the said post shall be as specified in columns (5) to (13) of the
above said Schedule.
4.
Disqualification.- No person,-
(a) who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living; or
(b) who, having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person,
shall be eligible for appointment to the said posts:
Provided that the Central Government may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the
personal law applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds
for doing so, exempt any person from the operation of this rule.
5. Power to relax.- Where the Central Government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient to do so, it
may, by order, for reasons to be recorded in writing, relax any of the provisions of these rules with respect to any
class or category of persons.
6. Saving.- Nothing in these rules shall affect reservations, relaxation of age-limit and other concessions required to
be provided for the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, the Other Backward Classes, Ex-servicemen and
others special categories of persons, in accordance with the orders issued by the Central Government from time to
time in this regard.

Age limit for direct recruits.

Not exceeding 30 years. (Relaxable for Government Servant up to five years in accordance with the instructions or
orders issued by the Central Government.)
Note :- The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of applications from
candidates in India (and not the closing date prescribed for those in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram,
Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Lahaul and Spiti district and Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba district of Himachal
Pradesh and the Union territories of Ladakh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands or Lakshadweep).
Educational and other qualifications required for direct recruits.

Essential:
(1) Intermediate with three years diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised Board or Institution or University
or equivalent.
(2) Physical and Medical standard for recruitment shall be applicable as per Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines
dated 20/05/2015 for recruitment, medical examination in Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles and as
per the scheme prescribed by the Central Government from time to time.
(3) Candidates will have to pass the Written test and Physical Efficiency Test as prescribed by the Central
Government from time to time.
Desirable:
Preference will be given to those having Graduation degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised Board or
Institution or University or equivalent.

Note-3.- The departmental officers in the feeder categories who are in the direct line of promotion shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation. | Promotion: Constable (Pioneer) in level 3 (Rs. 21700- 69100) in the pay matrix with five years regular service in the grade subject to qualifying the promotional courses as prescribed by the Director General, Central Reserve Police Force and being in Medical Category SHAPE-I. Note: Where juniors who have completed their qualifying or eligibility service are being considered for promotion, their seniors would also be considered provided they are not short of the requisite qualifying or eligibility service by more than half of such or qualifying or eligibility service or two years, whichever is less, and have successfully completed their probation period for promotion to the next higher grade amongst their junior who have completed such qualifying or eligibility service. Deputation: From amongst the officers of the Central Government or State Governments or Union territories:- (a) holding analogous posts on regular basis with five years regular service; (b) having three years diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised Institute or equivalent; or Matriculation or equivalent with three years experience in trades like Masonry or Carpenter or Plumbing or Electrician or Blacksmith or Welding or Painting etc. Preference will be given to those having certificate of trade from an Industrial Training Institution or recognised Institutions. Note-1.- The period of deputation including the period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in same or some other organisation or Department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed three years. Note-2.- The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall be not exceeding fifty-six years as on the closing date of receipt of applications. Note-3.- The departmental officers in the feeder categories who are in the direct line of promotion shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation. Between 18 to 23 years. (Relaxable for Government Servants upto 40 years in accordance with instructions or orders
issued by the Central Government.)
Note:- The crucial date for determination of the age limit in each case shall be the cut off date mentioned in the
advertisement.

1. Matriculation or equivalent from the recognised Board:
(a) One year experience in respective trades like Masonry or Carpentry or Plumbing or Electrician or Blacksmith
or Welding or Painting etc.
(b) Preference will be given to those having certificate of trade from recognised Industrial Training Institute.
2. Medical and Physical standard for recruitment shall be applicable as per Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines for
recruitment, medical examination in Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles dated 20/05/2015 and as per
the scheme prescribed by the Central Government from time to time.
3. Candidates will have to pass the Physical Efficiency Test, Written Test and Trade Test as prescribed by the
Central Government from time to time.
