By Notification No. 06/2026-Customs (N.T.), S.O. 224(E), dated 15th January 2026, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue), acting under sub-section (2) of section 14 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), amends Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.), dated 3rd August 2001 (S.O. 748(E)), by substituting TABLE-1, TABLE-2 and TABLE-3. TABLE-1 fixes per-metric-tonne tariff values in US dollars: Crude Palm Oil at $1,075, RBD Palm Oil at $1,084, other Palm Oil at $1,080, Crude Palmolein at $1,088, RBD Palmolein at $1,091, other Palmolein at $1,090, Crude Soya bean Oil at $1,173, and Brass Scrap (all grades) at $7,096. TABLE-2 fixes gold at $1,483 per 10 grams and silver at $2,950 per kilogram, both where the concessional benefit under entries 194 and 195 of Notification No. 45/2025-Customs dated 24th October 2025 is availed, and sets the same $2,950-per-kilogram and $1,483-per-10-gram values respectively for other qualifying silver forms and for gold bars/coins/findings meeting specified purity criteria. TABLE-3 sets areca nuts at $7,679 per metric tonne, unchanged from the prior value. The amendment takes effect from 16th January 2026; the principal notification was last amended by Notification No. 01/2026-Customs (N.T.), dated 13th January 2026 (S.O. 189(E)). Issued under F. S.O. 224(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 14 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs, being satisfied that it is necessary and expedient to do so, hereby makes the following amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.), dated the 3rd August, 2001, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section-3, Sub-section (ii), vide number S.
