G.S.R . 504 (E).—Whereas a draft of certain rules to amend sub -rule (1) of rule 15 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017 were published, as required by sub -section (1) of section 100 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), vide notification of the Government of India the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities number G.S.R. 357(E), dated the 10th May, 2023 in the Gazette of In dia, Extraordinary, Part -II, section 3, sub -section (i) inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby, before the expiry of thirty days from the date on which the copies of the Official Gazette in which this notificatio n is published are made available to the public; And whereas copies of the said notification were made available to the public on the 10th May, 2023; And whereas the objections and suggestions received from the public in respect of the said notification ha ve been considered by the Central Government; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub -sections (1) and (2) of section 100 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), the Central Government hereby makes the followin g rules further to amend the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017, namely: - (1) These rules may be called the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Amendment) Rules, 2023. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Off icial Gazette. 2. In the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017, in rule (15), in sub -rule (1), after clause (c), the following clause shall be inserted, namely: - “(d) culture sector specific harmonised accessibility standards/guidelines, notified by the Government of India in the Ministry of Culture, vide notification number G.S.R. 7 dated 18th January, 2023, as amended from time to time:” [F.
