L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-13082026-275433 EXTRAORDINARY PART III—Section 4 PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 500] NEW DELHI, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 12, 2026/SHRAVAN 21, 1948 NARMADA CONTROL AUTHORITY NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 25th June, 2026 Ref: A(43)/Admn./EN/2010/Part-2.— Whereas the Central Government had framed the Scheme known as the Narmada Water Scheme, inter-alia, constituting the Narmada Control Authority in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6A of the Inter State River Water Disputes Act, 1956 (33 of 1956) (hereafter referred to as the said Act) vide notification number S.O. 770(E) dated the 10th September, 1980; And whereas, the issue of gender neutrality in respect of the Head of the Authority was discussed in the 95th meeting of the Narmada Control Authority held on 4th September, 2024 and agreed to change the nomenclature of the Head of the Narmada Control Authority; Now, therefore, in exercise of the power conferred by section 6A of the said Act, the Central Government is hereby makes further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the erstwhile Ministry of Water Resources published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), vide notification number S.O. 770(E), dated the 10th September, 1980, namely: - In the Narmada Water Scheme, for the word "Chairman", wherever they occur, the word "Chairperson" shall be substituted.
