New Delhi, the 6th December , 2023
G.S.R. 882(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub -section (2) of section 156 of the
Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force Act, 1992 (35 of 1992), the Central Government hereby makes the following rule s
further to amend the Ministry of Home Affairs, Indo -Tibetan Border Police Force, Animal Transport Cadre, Group
‘A’ (Gazetted) and Group ‘B’ (Non -Gazetted) Posts, Recruitment Rules, 2018, namely: -
1. (1) These rules may be called the Ministry of Home affairs, Indo -Tibetan Border Police Force, Animal
Transport Cadre, Group ‘A’ (Gazetted) and Group ‘B’ (Non -Gazetted) Posts, Recruitment (Second Amendment)
Rules, 2023.
(2) They shall come into force on t he date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Ministry of Home Affairs, Indo -Tibetan Border Police Force, Animal Transport Cadre, Group ‘A’
(Gazetted) and Group ‘B’ (Non -Gazetted) Posts, Recruitment Rules, 2018, in the Schedule, against s erial number 1,
relating to the post of Assistant Commandant (Animal Transport), in column (11), for the entries, the following shall
be substituted, namely: -
“Promotion:
From amongst Inspector (Animal Transport) of Indo -Tibetan Border Police Force in leve l-7 in the pay matrix
(Rs. 44900 -142400) with five years regular service in the grade and having successfully completed the
specified pre -promotional course.
Note 1 : The eligible service shall continue to be three years for persons holding the post of Ins pector (Animal
Transport) on regular basis, on the date of notification of these Rules.
Note 2 : Where juniors who have completed their qualifying or eligibility service are being considered for
promotion, their seniors would also be considered provided t hey are not short of the requisite qualifying or
eligibility service by more than half of such qualifying or eligibility service of two years, whichever is less,
and have successfully completed their probation period for promotion to the next higher grade along with
their juniors who have already completed such qualifying or eligibility service.”
