                Detailed Summary
            

            
By notification S.O. 516(E) dated 28 January 2025, issued at Bilaspur by the Ministry of Railways (South East Central Railway), the Central Government finalises land acquisition under Section 20E of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989) for the Dharamjaigarh to Korba (62 km) Special Railway Project in Chhattisgarh. It recalls the earlier notification S.O. 5249(E) dated 5 December 2024, issued under Section 20A(1) of the said Act, declaring the Central Government's intention to acquire the land, whose substance was published in Dainik Bhaskar (Hindi), Bilaspur edition, and Rashtriya Vijay Mail (Hindi), Korba edition, on 18 December 2024 under Section 20A(4). No objections were received within the set time period, and the matter was disposed of by the Competent Authority under Section 20D. On receipt of the Competent Authority's report, and under Section 20E(1), the Central Government declares that the lands in the Schedule shall be acquired, and under Section 20E(2) that they vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances, on publication. The Schedule lists khasra-wise private and government agricultural plots and owners across four villages in District Korba -- Urga (Tehsil Korba), Masan (Tehsil Bhaisma), Dadarkala (Tehsil Barpali) and Jogipali (Tehsil Kartala) -- with a grand total acquired area of 2.083 hectares. NOTIFICATION UNDER SECTION 20E OF THE RAILWAY ACT 1989
S.O. 516(E)— Whereas by the notification of the Government of India, In the Ministry of Railways (Railway
Board) number S.O. 5249 (E), dated the 05 December 2024, published in the Gazzette of India (Extra-Ordinary) Part-
II section 3 sub section (ii) , hereinafter referred toas the said notification) under subsection (1) of 20A of the railway
act,1989 (24 of 1989) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act),the central Government declared its intention to acquire
the land specified in the schedule annexed to the said notification for execution of Special Railway Project, namely
DHARAMJAIGARH to KORBA (62 km.) in the state of Chattisgarh. And, whereas the substance of the said
notification 20 A was published as per section 20A sub section (4) in the daily Newspapers, Dainik bhaskar (Hindi)
Bilaspur Edition on 18.12.2024 and Rashtriy Vijay Mail (Hindi) Korba Edition on 18.12.2024. And whereas, No
objections were received within the set time period and disposed of by the Competant Authority under section 20D
of the said Act;And, whereas, in pursuance of subsection (1) of section 20E of the said act,the Competant Authority has
submitted his report to the central Government; Now,therefore,upon receipt of the said report of the Competant
Authority, and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub section (1) of the section 20E of the said act 1989, the
central Government hereby declares that the lands specified in the sechdule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the
aforesaid purpose; And, further, in pursuance of subsection (2) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government

hereby declares that on publication of this notification in the official Gazette, the land specified in the Schedule
annexed hereto shall vest absolutely in the Cenrral Government free from all Encumbrances.
