                Detailed Summary
            

            
In exercise of powers under sub-section (1) of Section 20E of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989), and following the earlier notification S.O. 4842(E), dated 7 November 2024, issued by the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) under Section 20A(1) declaring intent to acquire land for the Special Railway Project 'Gevraroad to Pendraroad (135.00 km)' in Chhattisgarh — whose substance was published under Section 20A(4) in the Hindi newspapers 'Navbharat' (Bilaspur edition) and 'Rashtriya Vijay Mail' (Korba edition), both dated 27 November 2024, and after no objections were received within the prescribed period under Section 20D, and the Competent Authority submitted its report to the Central Government under Section 20E(1) — the Central Government, by notification S.O. 440(E), issued by South East Central Railway at Bilaspur on 23 January 2025, declares that the land specified in the annexed Schedule shall be acquired for this project and, under Section 20E(2), that on publication in the Official Gazette it vests absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances. The Schedule covers agricultural land in the villages of Matin (Tahsil Pasan) and Putuwa and Sadhamar (Tahsil Podiuproda), all in Korba district, Chhattisgarh, totalling 3.244 hectares. NOTIFICATION UNDER SECTION 20E of THE RAILWAY ACT 1989
S.O. 440(E).— Whereas by the notification of the Government of India, In the Ministry of
Railways (Railway Board) number S.O. 4842 (E), dated the 07 November 2024, published in the Gazzette
of India (Extra-Ordinary) Part-II section 3 sub section (ii) , hereinafter referred toas the said notification)
under subsection (1) of 20A of the railway act,1989 (24 of 1989) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act),the
central Government declared its intention to acquire the land specified in the schedule annexed to the said
notification for execution of Special Railway Project, namely GEVRAROAD to PENDRAROAD (135.00
km.) in the state of Chattisgarh. And, whereas the substance of the said notification 20 A was published as
per section 20A sub section (4) in the daily Newspapers, Navbharat (Hindi) Bilaspur Edition on 27.11.2024
and Rashtriy Vijay Mail (Hindi) Korba Edition on 27.11.2024. And whereas, No objections were received
within the set time period and disposed of by the Competant Authority under section 20D of the said

Act;And, whereas, in pursuance of subsection (1) of section 20E of the said act,the Competant Authority
has submitted his report to the central Government; Now,therefore,upon receipt of the said report of the
Competant Authority, and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub section (1) of the section 20E of the
said act 1989, the central Government hereby declares that the lands specified in the sechdule annexed
hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose; And, further, in pursuance of subsection (2) of section
20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that on publication of this notification in the
official Gazette, the land specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall vest absolutely in the Cenrral
Government free from all Encumbrances.
