                Detailed Summary
            

            
Notification S.O. 5546(E), issued by the Ministry of Railways (South East Central Railway) at Bilaspur on 1 December 2025, finalises the acquisition begun by an earlier notification, S.O. 3644 dated 13 August 2025 (published 7 August 2025), which had declared under sub-section (1) of Section 20A of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989) the Central Government's intention to acquire land in Gondia District, Maharashtra, for the Special Railway Project 'Rajnandgaon-Nagpur 3rd Line (228 Km) Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra'. The substance of that notification was published in the newspaper Dainik Mahasagar, Gondia, on 16 September 2025 under sub-section (4) of Section 20A; objections received were heard and orders passed by the Competent Authority under Section 20D. On receipt of the Competent Authority's report under sub-section (1) of Section 20E, the Central Government now declares that the land in the annexed Schedule shall be acquired, and that on publication it vests absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances under sub-section (2) of Section 20E. The Schedule lists survey numbers, landholding category, total area under the 7/12 record, and acquisition area for parcels in Gondia village, Gondia Taluka and District, totalling 1.007 hectares acquired. NOTIFICATION
Bilaspur, the 1st December, 2025
Notice under Section 20E of the Railway Act, 1989
S.O. 5546(E).—Whereas, by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Railways
(South East Central Railway), number S.O. 3644, dated the 13.08.2025 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary,
Part-II, section 3, Sub-section (II), dated the 07.08.2025 and issued under sub-section (I) of section 20A of the
Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989) (here in after referred as the said Act), the Central Government declared its
intention to acquire the land in the schedule annexed to the said notification for the purpose of execution, maintenance,
management and operation of the Special Railway Project namely “Rajnandgaon-Nagpur 3rd line (228 Km) Chhattisgarh
and Maharashtra” in the District of Gondia in the State of Maharashtra.
And whereas, the substance of the said notification has been published in the daily local newspapers,
namely, Dainik Mahasagar , Gondia of dated 16 September, 2025 under sub-section (4) of section 20A of the said Act;
And whereas, objections were received; Competent Authority has heard the objections and orders have been
passed in terms of section 20 D of the said act;
And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Competent Authority
has submitted its report to the Central Government.
Now therefore, upon receipt of the report of the Competent Authority and in exercise of the powers conferred
by sub- section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land specified in
the Schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose.

And further, in the pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Govt. hereby declares
that on publication of the notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall vest
absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances.
