For direct recruits, the age limit is 18 to 27 years, with relaxations as per Government of India orders. Educational qualifications include 10+2 (Senior Secondary) with Science & Mathematics or a National Trade Certificate in Mechanic-cum-operator Electronic Communication System, along with computer proficiency (1000 key depressions in 15 minutes and basic computer functions). Physical standards dictate sound health, specific vision requirements (e.g., better eye 6/6 without glasses), and height (Male: 170 Cms; Female: 157 Cms, with 5 Cms relaxation for Hill areas) and chest (Male: 81-85 Cms, with 5 Cms relaxation for Hill areas). Short title and Commencement: i. This Rule may be called the Delhi Police (Appointment & Recruitment) (Amendment), Rules, 2025. ii. They shall come into force with effect from the date of their publication in the Central Gazette. Amendment of Rule-17-B(iv):- In the Delhi Police (Appointment & Recruitment) Rules, 1980 the existing Rule 17-B(iv), relating to the post of Assistant Wireless Operator/ Tele-Printer Operator (Head Constable) of Communication Unit in Delhi Police, shall be deleted and substituted by the following:- 2) Number of posts, classification and Level in the Pay Matrix- The number of posts, their classification and level in the Pay Matrix attached thereto shall be specified in columns (2) to (4) of the Schedule of the annexed to these rules. 3) Method of recruitment, age limit and other qualifications etc. -The method of recruitment of the said post, age limit, qualifications and other matters relating thereto shall be as specified in columns (5) to (13) of the said Schedule. (4) Disqualification- No person;- (a) Who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living; or (b) Who, having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person, shall be eligible for appointment to the said post: Provided that the Central Government may, if satisfied, that such marriage is permissible under the personnel law applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doing exempt any person from the operation of this rule. (5) Power to relax- Where the Government is of the opinion that it is necessary expedient so to do, it may, by order, and for reasons to be recorded in writing, relax any of the provisions of this rule with respect of any class or category of persons. (6) Saving- Nothing in these rules shall affect reservations, relaxation of age limit and other concession required to be provided for the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Ex-Servicemen, person with disability or any other special category of persons in accordance with the orders issued by the Government from time to time in this regard.
