Notification dated 26 August 2025 (New Delhi), S.O. 3908(E), issued under sub-section (1) of section 162 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (36 of 2003) read with the Qualifications, Powers and Functions of Chief Electrical Inspector and Electrical Inspectors Rules, 2006 (notified 17.08.2006, amended 16.05.2016). The Central Government appoints four officers of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) as Electrical Inspector for CMRL, effective from the date of the notification until their tenure in CMRL ends or until further orders, whichever is earlier, subject to fulfilling the qualifications and conditions in the said Rules: Thiru B Gopinath Mallya (Chief Advisor, Operations and Maintenance, B.Tech Electrical Engineering); S.K. Natarajan (Advisor, E&M, AMIE Electrical Engineering, ME Power System, C-License Holder, Certified Energy Auditor); Balamurugan C (Additional General Manager, Rolling Stock, DEEE, BE, ME Power Systems, MBA, Certified IPMA Level B); and M. Anburajan (Joint General Manager, PS&OHE, B.E. EEE). The officers are to exercise their powers over electrical works, installations and rolling stock within areas occupied by, or under the control of, CMRL, per the procedure in the Central Electricity Authority (Measures relating to Safety and Electricity Supply) Regulations, 2010, as amended. They must not function as Electrical Inspector for any work or installation for which they are themselves responsible for execution or maintenance, and must complete such training as the Central Government considers necessary. CG-DL-E-27082025-265729 EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (ii) 5686 GI/2025 (1) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 26th August, 2025 S.O. 3908(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred under sub-section (1) of section 162 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (36 of 2003) read with Qualifications, Powers and Functions of Chief Electrical Inspector and Electrical Inspectors Rules, 2006 (hereinafter called the said Rules), notified on 17.08.2006 and as amended on 16.05.2016, the Central Government hereby appoints the following officers of Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) as Electrical Inspector for Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) from the date of this Notification till their tenure in CMRL or till further orders, whichever is earlier, subject to fulfillment of the qualifications and conditions mentioned in the said Rules:- | S. It shall be ensured that above mentioned officers shall not function as Electrical Inspector in respect of any electrical work or installation, for which, execution or maintenance is their responsibility. The officers appointed as Electrical Inspector shall undergo such training as the Central Government may consider necessary for the purpose and such training shall be completed to the satisfaction of the Government.
