Detailed Summary

By S.O. 1436(E) dated 19 March 2026, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, exercising powers under sub-section (1) of Section 3D of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956), declares that the land specified in the Schedule is to be acquired for building (widening/four-laning/six-laning), maintenance, management and operation of the Greenfield Highway in the stretch from Km 0 to Km 8.18 in Raigad district, Maharashtra. The Central Government's original intention to acquire this land was declared under Section 3A(1) by notification No. 5154 dated 12 November 2025, whose substance was published under Section 3A(3) in "The Indian Express" and "Lokmat" on 26 November 2025. Objections filed under Section 3-C were received and settled by the Competent Authority, which then reported to the Central Government under Section 3D(1). Under Section 3D(2), on publication of this notification the Schedule land -- 3.8599 hectares in Uran taluk covering Survey Nos. 131 to 139 and 227-228 in Vindhane village (a mix of private agricultural/fishery land and Reserved Forest) and Survey Nos. 316 to 324 in Navghar village (largely CIDCO land) -- vests absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances. NHAI/LA/GREENFIELD/NH/2022/3D2] MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 19th March, 2026 S.O. 1436(E).— Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, 5154 Dated:12/11/2025 , published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intension to acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed to the said notification for building (widening/four-laning/six-laning, etc.), maintenance, management and operation of Greenfield Highway in the stretch of land from Km. 0 to Km. 8.18 in the district of RAIGAD in the state of MAHARASHTRA And whereas the substance of the said notification has been published in “The Indian Express” dated 26/11/2025 , “Lokmat” dated 26/11/2025 ; under sub-section (3) of section 3A of the said Act; And whereas the Competent Authority has received objections filed under Section 3-C, considered and settled the same appropriately; And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the competent authority has submitted its report to the Central Government; Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority and in exercise of the powers conferred by the sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land specified in the said Schedule should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose; And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the said Schedule shall vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances.
