CG-DL-E-07012026-269150 EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (ii) 68 GI/2026 (1) MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 5th January, 2026 S.O. 61(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956), the Central Government hereby directs that the functions in relation to the execution of works pertaining to each of the National Highways described in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed shall be exercisable by the State Government specified in column (3) of the Table against each highway subject to the condition that the State Government concerned shall in the exercise of such functions be bound to comply with the rules for the time being in force under the said Act and for that purpose makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the erstwhile Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways (Department of Road Transport and Highways) number S.O 1096(E), dated the 4th August, 2005, namely:- In the said notification, in the Schedule, for serial number 10 and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be substituted, namely: - TABLE | (1) | (2) | (3) | |---|---|---| | “10 | So much of New National Highways No. 20 [(Excluding from Barhi- Koderma- upto Jharkhand/ Bihar border section (Km. 0.00 to Km. 47.70 of old NH-31), from Barhi- Hazaribagh (km. 0.000 to km. 40.500 of old NH-33) and from Hazaribagh to Ranchi (km. 40.500 to km. 114.000 of old NH-33], No.43 [Excluding from Ranchi- Gumla Section (km 2.90 to km 88.600 of old NH No. 23) and Ranchi-Chandil section of Ranchi- Jamshedpur (km. ll4.000 to km.277.500 of old NH No. 33) and Gumla to Jharkhand/Chhattisgarh Border section) (24km) of old NH-78], No.114A [excluding from Km. 85.081 to Km. 130.240 (Basukinath- Deoghar section)], No.133 [excluding from Km. 12.000 to km. 93.000 (Jharkhand/Bihar border-Mahagama-Hansdiha section)], No. 133A, No. 139, No. 143, No. 143A, No. 143B, No. 143AG, No. 218, No. 220, No. 320D, No. 320G, No. 333, No. 333A, No. 343, No. 419 and No.522 as are situated within the State of Jharkhand. | State Government of Jharkhand.” | Note: - The principal notification was published vide number S.O.1096 (E), dated the 4th August, 2005 and was last amended vide number S.O. 5671 (E), dated the 08th December, 2025. No. NH-14013/4/2025-P&M] SHAIKH AMINKHAN, Director NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 5th January, 2026 S.O. 63(E).— In exercise of powers conferred by section 11 of the National Highways Authority of India Act, 1988 (68 of 1988), the Central Government hereby rescinds the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, number S.O. 3642(E), dated the 16th October, 2020 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary No. 3230 dated 16th October, 2020, with immediate effect.
