Under S.O. 2151(E), issued under section 5 of the National Highways Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) and signed by Shaikh Aminkhan, Director, the Central Government amends notification S.O. 1096(E) dated 4th August 2005 (last amended by S.O. 1999(E) dated 22nd April 2026) by substituting the Table entry for serial number 11, assigning execution functions over numerous National Highways within Karnataka, including Nos. 42, 52, 67, 69, 73, 75, 150, 150A, 150C, 160 and 167, to the State Government of Karnataka. Under S.O. 2152(E), issued under section 11 of the National Highways Authority of India Act, 1988 (68 of 1988), the Central Government entrusts five highway stretches in Karnataka to the National Highways Authority of India: NH-50 from the Maharashtra/Karnataka border to Humnabad (83 km); NH-52 (Old NH-218) from Hubbali to Vijaypura (199 km); NH-75 (Old NH-48) from Gundya to Heggadde (26 km); NH-150A from Jevargi via Shahapur and Bellary to Hirriyur, Km 0.00 to Km 409.00, spanning Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh; and NH-766 (Old NH-212) from the Kerala/Karnataka border via Gundlulpet and Mysore to Kollegal (entire stretch in Karnataka). Under S.O. 2153(E), also issued under section 11 of the 1988 Act, the Central Government amends notification S.O. 3512(E) dated 23rd November 2016 by omitting the entries for NH-150A's Jevargi-Shahapur section (Km 0.000-50.000) and Bellary-Hiriyur section (Km 254.800-409.00). Under S.O. 2154(E), the Central Government rescinds, with immediate effect, notifications S.O. 2796(E) dated 16th September 2013, S.O. 5568(E) dated 29th October 2018, S.O. 1508(E) dated 14th May 2020 and S.O. 170(E) dated 15th January 2024.
