By notification S.O. 1674(E), dated 1 April 2026, New Delhi, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, acting under sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 3D of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956), finalises the acquisition of land for National Highway-154 from Km 60.600 to Km 61.000 in the village of Hatli, Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh, for building (widening/four-laning, etc.), maintenance, management and operation of the highway. The notification follows an earlier declaration of intent, S.O. 637(E) dated 6 February 2026, issued under section 3A of the Act, the substance of which was published in The Tribune and Himachal Dastak, both dated 14 February 2026, under section 3A(3). Objections filed under section 3-C were received, considered and settled by the Competent Authority, which then submitted its report to the Central Government under section 3D(1). The Central Government accordingly declares that the land specified in the Schedule shall be acquired, and that on publication of this notification it vests absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances, under section 3D(2). The Schedule lists 7 private non-agricultural parcels in Village Hatli, Sihunta taluk, Chamba district, totaling 0.1088 hectares. CG-DL-E-02042026-271512 EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (ii) 2366 GI/2026 (1) MINISTRY OF ROAD TRANSPORT AND HIGHWAYS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 1st April, 2026 S.O. 1674(E).— Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, 637(E) Dated:06/02/2026 , published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) issued under sub-section (1) of section 3A of the National Highway Act, 1956 (48 of 1956) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intension to acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed to the said notification for building (widening/four-laning, etc.), maintenance, management and operation of NH-154 in the stretch of land from Km. 60.600 to Km. 61.000 in the village namely, Hatli in the district of CHAMBA in the state of HIMACHAL PRADESH And whereas the substance of the said notification S. O. 637 (E) dated 06/02/2026 has been published in “The Tribune ” dated 14/02/2026 , “ Himachal Dastak ” dated 14/02/2026 ; under sub-section (3) of section 3A of the said Act; And whereas the Competent Authority has received objections filed under Section 3-C, considered and settled the same appropriately; And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the competent authority has submitted its report to the Central Government; Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority and in exercise of the powers conferred by the sub-section (1) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land specified in the said Schedule should be acquired for the aforesaid purpose; And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 3D of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the said Schedule shall vest absolutely in the Central Government, free from all encumbrances.
