The High Court of Delhi, New Delhi, through Notification No. 5/Rules/DHC dated 24th January, 2026, has resolved to introduce a one-time process fee. In terms of Rule 1(c) of Part F of Chapter 1 of Volume V of Delhi High Court Rules and Orders, a fee of Rs. 1,000/- shall be payable by the petitioner/appellant/applicant at the time of institution of the petition/appeal/application, irrespective of the number of respondents/defendants/opposite parties. A fee of Rs. 500/- shall be payable by the respondent/opposite party at the time of filing their reply/counter affidavit/response. It is clarified that this one-time process fee does not include any other incidental levies or fees such as expenses for publication, beat of drums, affixation, or commission. No. 5/Rules/DHC.βHon'ble the Chief Justice and companion Judges have been pleased to resolve that in
terms of Rule 1(c) of Part F of Chapter 1 of Volume V of Delhi High Court Rules and Orders, one-time process fee of
Rs. 1,000/- from the petitioner/appellant/applicant at the time of institution of the petition/appeal/application,
irrespective of the number of respondents/defendents/opposite parties and Rs. 500/- from the respondent/opposite party
shall be payable at the time of filing the reply/counter affidavit/response and it is clarified that one-time process fee
shall not include any other incidental levies / fees such as payment of expenses towards publication, beat of drums,
affixation, commission etc.
The above fee shall be chargeable from the date of its publication in the Gazette.
