The Reserve Bank of India, through Notification F. No. DoR.LIC.No.S7704/16.13.300/2025-26 dated 12th January, 2026, issued from Mumbai, has directed specific alterations to the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 (2 of 1934), in pursuance of clause (c) of sub-section (6) of Section 42 of the said Act. These alterations involve substituting the names of six Gramin Banks: "Assam Gramin Vikash Bank" is replaced with "Assam Gramin Bank"; "Chhattisgarh Rajya Gramin Bank" with "Chhattisgarh Gramin Bank"; "Jharkhand Rajya Gramin Bank" with "Jharkhand Gramin Bank"; "Kerala Gramin Bank" with "Kerala Grameena Bank"; "Puduvai Bharathiyar Grama Bank" with "Puducherry Grama Bank"; and "Sarva Haryana Gramin Bank" with "Haryana Gramin Bank".
